Architectural Practice
An inspired property developer came to us a couple of months ago, as they saw a vision that an old doctor’s surgery could be transformed into apartments, housing multiple people. We knew that this was a project we wanted to help with as this property had been unused for 6 years – the former surgery was vacated in Spring 2016.
We love to see properties transform into homes and this one we think will be absolutely spectacular, for people who are looking to move to that area. The new property is planning to hold 7 apartments, with two, one bedroomed and five, two bedroomed spaces to live. Ideas were had in keeping the former surgery in community use, including a school, nursery, museum or art gallery, but none of them proved viable.
“How pleased I am to see this application to bring back this building into some meaningful use” – Local ward councillor John Geary.
Before our planning permission, the property was being used by illegal squatters and people breaking in, most likely causing issues. We are extremely grateful to have been part of the process which turned this squat house into a home and welcome all projects that serve such a purpose as this one. All the plans created were deemed acceptable and we are hoping to see some lovely flats very soon!
